Make it simple: The Mouse and the Motorcycle

Who doesn't love a childhood classic like Mouse and the Motorcycle? We had so much fun reading this and watching the, very, old school movie. We made PB & Jam thumbprint cookies to celebrate.

Remember book celebrations don't have to be all or nothing. You can make one simple thing together or pick something up from the store. The point is: discussion, connection, celebration, and to have fun.

Who doesn't love the sweet chapter book A Bear Called Paddington? What is so fun about this book, is that it is a series. I love a good series. It keeps kids reading! Even better when there are multiple movies to watch!

We made bear cupcakes using cookie dough and M&Ms for the nose! We cute out paper hats and tags. We also made PB & J sandwiches, using bananas, chocolate chips, and apples to create the image of Paddington.

It was fun to incorporate marmalade, bacon, and a few other delicious food items, which are all mentioned throughout the book.

This was probably one of our most favorite movie nights. Even though just one child read the series, we all enjoyed a fun evening together.

Mr. Popper's Penguins is just one of those chapter books I will never tire of. Each child has read through this book and it is so much fun. The movie is nothing like the book, but that allows for great discussion!

For this movie night and book celebration, we made penguin cupcakes using Oreos, M&Ms and mini chocolate chips. The kids had so much fun decorating these. We also made salmon, aka, fish that was eaten by the penguins throughout the story.

Baking together is definitely a perk of book celebrations

Remember: It isn't about having a perfect presentation; it is about getting the whole family involved.

Happy reading! Jenna
