If you have followed me on social media for any amount of time, chances are you've witnessed how we LOVE to celebrate books we've read. We've had so many book celebrations, I wanted to share them with you!
When we first began book celebrations, my children were in lower elementary school. Here are a few of our favorite celebrations!
Who doesn't love a Laura Numeroff book? They have always been a favorite series in my home!

First up: If You Give a Moose a Muffin
Why is this book so fun? After reading it together and mastering it independently, it was time to make several kinds of scrumptious muffins.

My kids have two favorite types of muffins:
blueberry and chocolate chip! I just make the base and they add what they want. Once in awhile, I also make some delicious cinnamon muffins or pumpkin muffins.
Secret tip: I add organic protein powder, so we are not just eating carbs for breakfast or snack.

If You Give a Mouse a Cookie is a classic, that every family should read and celebrate! We made a special cookie: s'mores! It is the YUMMIEST cookie we make in this house and the most requested by friends. Grab the recipe here!
If You Give a Pig a Pancake, but not just a regular old pancake! You must make sheetpan pancakes! They are truly a favorite here. It is SO easy. It's also a great way to meet everyone's cravings at breakfast time.
And - YES! I do add protein powder to these as well.
Last, but certainly not least: If You Give a Dog a Donut!
We, of course, had to make donuts! We used a donut pan and baked them and then made a delicious vanilla glaze.
Food is a motivator, but it is more than that. Baking and cooking together is a great bonding experience and core memory maker. Celebrating books we've read together or my children have mastered on their own creates a new level of love for reading. Plus, I will take any excuse to make a treat or have a good theme!
Not a baker? It is totally fine to outsource to your local grocery store or team up with another mom!
