Mrs. Wordsmith Blah Blah Blah - Phonics Card Game

We are always looking for fun new games over here and my goal is to make them meaningful! Mrs. Wordsmith‘s Blah Blah Blah Phonics Card Game fits the bill!

I love this game because there are three levels, allowing for review and growth!

PS- the blue card holders are a game changer (literally - ha). You can grab some on Amazon.

The first level begins with cVc (consonant vowel consonant) words. The second level moves toward double vowel sounds and the third adds digraphs, blends, and double consonant endings.

A fun (and super useful) perk of this game is the QR code. If English is not your first language or you want your child to play in a group with other children (or just be more independent) this feature comes in handy! Just scan the QR code with your phone or tablet and it will read the word, as well as the individual phonemes and graphemes.

There are also silly cards to make the game last a little longer and to add a challenge. You may have to draw two or four more cards, switch directions, or skip another player!

Overall, it’s engaging, educational, and a lot of fun! I love that it goes right along with our Logic of English curriculum!
